Seminar: Individuation through Contemplation, Meditation, and Practice

September 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Buddhism describes two paths or vehicles to end human unhappiness, Sutrayana and Vajrayana, where sutra is called the causal path, and tantra, the resultant path. Similarly, Jung described a retrospective and a prospective approach integral to the process of Individuation. This seminar will examine a text, The Samadhi Raja Sutra, and a commentary by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, that powerfully link Sutrayana and Vajrayana in a way that is both comprehensive and practical. Rinpoche, the author of our commentary and a realized master of Tibetan Buddhism’s Kagyu lineage, served as the primary tutor of the 17th Karmapa.

This seminar is aimed toward individuals who have a basic understanding of the Reality of Psyche, some form of mediation practice, and the desire to integrate and expand both their understanding and practice of the process of individuation. Five 2-hour sessions, Tuesdays, 6 pm to 8 pm, in Santa Fe. Enrollment limited to eight participants. Begins September 10th, through October 8th.

William Kotsch, Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst and clinical psychologist. He successfully completed the traditional Kagyu three-year retreat at Vajra Vidya Retreat Center in Crestone, Colorado, under the auspices of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche.

$40.00 for entire series (to be donated to the Vaja Vidya Retreat Center). For 10 CEUs, add $20 surcharge
